Rain hat by Redon

Rain hat by Redon
This rainhat is inspired by a pastel made by the French painter Odilon Redon. Known as the ‘painter of dreams’, Rodon was a master of blending reality with the surreal, and this dreamy bouquet is no exception.
But Odilon Redon’s journey to colour wasn’t always so vivid. Early in his career, he created haunting charcoal drawings he called ‘noirs’- moody, surreal works filled with strange creatures. Why such darkness? He was deeply inspired by writers and poets, especially Edgar Allan Poe, whose macabre stories fueled his dark imagery! Then, in his fifties, he embraced a palette of pastels and oils, breathing light into his art, as seen in this painting.
